I thought he was peering down Santa's pants until I scrolled down! Rudolph's empty eye sockets are particularly disturbing-

I'm guessing you stopped the color and tonal approach because they would have been too much to group together, but I love the look of these. The dot pattern shading reminds me of Duo-Shade or Craftint paper. Ever hear of that stuff? MAD artist Wally Wood used to use it in the '50s. It's a paper that when you brush on a solution magically makes the dot-pattern appear. Also came in a 'cross-hatch' version, and if you dry-brushed it on you could get those magnificent 'fades' that you've achieved on these illo's.

Yes, the idea was to do it all like that. Lack of time made me opt for a quick finish. I love the dots, I never heard of those solutions, I used to use the letraset stuff a long time ago. I must do more of this stuff so I can use them again, only digital dots this time.
